New contract on Mein Schiff 2

We are proud to announce that we have been awarded a contract from TUI Cruises, onboard Mein Schiff 2.
The owner have some newly refitted areas that do not live up to their expected standards, they have contracted Danish Decoration to have this repaired.

We are proud to announce that we have been awarded the contract for refitting 3 Celebrity Cruise vessels, Celebrity Infinity, Summit and Millennium.
The refit will be carried out on Grand Bahamas over the next 8 month. We will be refitting the following areas, Grand Foyer, Café al Bacio, Martini Ice Bar, New Conference area, Teens Club, Kiids Area, and Observation Lounge.

New project – Mein Schiff 2

Refit for TUI-Cruises of Aft Show Lounge on Celebrity Mercury into new multi-purpose Spielplatz room consisting of a Lounge Bar, Casino & Cigar Bar and Rendez-vous Square into Lifestyle Area with Photo Gallery. The refit will take place at Lloyd Werft in Bremerhaven. The work onboard will start with the demolition 15. March 2011 and the area will be completed and delivered by 11. April 2011.

2½ years of positive cooperation with R&M Ship Technologies has now ended with a successfully delivery of the areas on Allure of the Seas.
We have decided to move on, operating in our own company - Danish Decoration.


Allure of the Seas Pinacle Chapel

The largest cruise ship of the world - Allure of the Seas - has left STX Europe, Turku in Finland by the end of October as original scheduled.
We have delivered the following areas to R&M Ship Technologies OY:

Studio B – a multi-purpose area consisting of a complete ice rink with high level technical equipment and a moveable ice cover floor, which makes the area useable as a show Lounge, too. The Hall of Fame and Museum of Gambling located on each side of the ice rink area is a part of the area, too.

Observation Lounge – a VIP area located on deck 17 with a spectacular view, consisting of Viking Crown Lounge with the rising sun bar and the best view of the Central Park area, Pinnacle Chapel for official ceremonies and private weddings, Pinnacle Lounge a quiet relaxing Lounge with a superior view.

All was delivered on time as scheduled.
With this delivery we have added a new chapter to the large scale of projects we have preformed.

Celebrity Constellation Solsticizing New Martini ice bar.

We are sorry for the delay of updates on our website.The only excuse we have is that we have been too
busy with other things… which is actually a good thing-
We finalized the refit of Celebrity Constellation in May.
The hole refit have transformed the already beautiful Celebrity Constellation with more Solstice features.
The job was done for R&M Ship Technologies GmbH
We build a new Martini Ice Bar with an Ice-feature (Ice feature done by SeaKing), as well as a new "Café al
Bacio", a state of the art coffee and ice cream area.
Apart from these areas, we also refurbished part of the Fine dining room "Ocean Liners’", the Atrium with
guest service areas.
We also renewed the Internet Learning Center with new furniture and features.

Refit of Celebrity Constellation Celebrity Constellation

We are currently in the middle of planning the Constellation Refit.
Danish Decoration is doing this job for R&M Ship Technologies GmbH.
We are refitting the following areas: Martini Ice Bar, Café Al bacio, Grand Foyer and doing other minor work around the vessel.
The refit will happened in Hamburg at Blohm+Voss from the 24th of April to the 7th of May.
We will post news on the website during the the refit.

The project manager is Claus B. Hansen.

We proudly announce having delivered Studio B for R&M Ship Technologies OY on time.
The largest cruise ship of the world is now on its way (crossing) to Port Everglades to get ready for her inaugural cruise in December.
We are continuing working for R&M Ship Technologies Oy in 2 area of the sister ship Allure of the Seas.
Studio B as well as the Viking Crown Lounge, Loft Lounge and Wedding Chapel.
At the moment we are not aloud to show pictures of the building process and the finished ship.

Aft Lounge and Casino delivered Mein Schiff start to take the new shape outside

Today we had the final delivery of the areas.
It was a good delivery for us, owner and Architect was satisfied with our works.
Of-course we got a few remarks, 10 to be precise.
6 of them we fixed right away, and 4 we need to come back and fix, due to a little delivery time for some stainless steel profile.

We will be on and off the vessel for the next 2 weeks due to the extra work we got from the owner.

After May 8 we will update with final pictures of the area as it will look when the ship goes into service.


Touch up day Special curtains to make atmosphere

Today is our touch up day, where we are checking up all the details and make sure we are 100% ready for tomorrow where We have the Final inspection by owner and Architect at 10.00AM
We will be the first area onboard to make a final delivery.
Yes, we are a little proud of that.
The area do look at little messy, and will also do that during the final inspection tomorrow.
The reason is that Century Casino moved all their gaming equipment into the area.
This will not effect our delivery, but only look at little messy on the pictures.
Today we send more that half of our workforce back home, the rest will leave tomorrow.

Today we had the preliminary inspection with the owner.
This vent very well, we only got minor remarks as we were still missing our touch up day.
Owner was satisfied with the area, and we will now use tomorrow to do all our own remarks, touch ups etc.

We expect this to run smoothly as we have discussed details on a daily basis with them.

Today the architect team visited the vessel again.
Ralf Claussen and Ulrike Luebben from CM Design in Hamburg were overlooking the works today.
Overall they were happy with the performance they saw.
It always gives a good feeling when we are not too far from what the architect wants to see.

Day 17 onboard Galaxy Mads form Scanel pulling cables for gaming tables

Now we are getting closer to the finish day, we have approx 1 week to go and we are still good.
It’s always nice when he carpet starts to go in, then you know you are getting there.
We have been very lucky with the weather on this dry dock, we had only rain for 1 day, and it was only a few drops.
All other days have been sunny and clear, with at great temperature during the day.


Day 16 onboard Galaxy Mads and Thomas form Scanel preparing for cables to gaming tables

Now we are 16 days into the refit of Galaxy.
We are still performing well and have no issues finishing in time.
We (as R&M Ship Tec) are just awarded a refit of the hospital on deck 4.
We will change flooring throughout and also make a new reception desk as well as changing some stainless steel profiles.
We will have to do this before the end of the dry dock… in the beginning of May.

Now is the really tricky time where we are still doing some dusty work and in the same time we are finalizing the much nicer work.

Now we are more that half way through the project and still on good time.
More and more furniture’s and wallpaper goes in.
Today we have German television onboard doing a large scale interview with the Architect Ralf Claussen in our area.
Some of the topics for our area were the cleanliness and organisation in our area.
We were very pleased with that.


Easter on Celebrity Galaxy Installation of Cigar Humidor at day 10.

We spend a very fruitful Easter ‘’Holiday’’ onboard the Galaxy… more and more turned to Mein Schiff.
Everything runs smoothly and we have no obstructions.
All furniture installation and paintworks going in the right direction, as well as our other interior works.

Now we are 7 days into the dry dock transferring Celebrity Galaxy to TUI Cruises Mein Schiff.
A lot of furniture installation is already going on.
We are in a good progress so everything seems fine.

We are still going strong on the refit of Celebrity Galaxy in Bremerhaven.
Now is the time where we nearly finish all demolition, but also start building up the new area.

Claus B. Hansen is off to Bremerhaven for the Galaxy refit for R&M Ship Technologies.
The ship will turn into TUI Cruises ‘’Mein Schiff’’ a brand directly targeting the German marked.
The job we are doing under R&M contract is Aft Lounge and Casino.
The area is designed by Ralf Claussen from CM Design in Hamburg.
Ralf Claussen have designed several areas around the vessel, and we have had a very good co-operation with Mr.Claussen and his team during the planning process of the job.
We will update nearly daily with pictures of the progress.

So are we back after Miami Seatrade 2009.
Claus B Hansen was there on behalf of R&M Ship Technologies, Tina and Henrik was there visiting.
We meet with a lot of old friends from the Business as well as new potential customers.
Despite of the economical situation around the world, there were a lot of positive vibrations regarding the future.
Especially the Refit market is expected to take some speed in the not so far future.
